Why is NotebookLM not working?

NotebookLM issues generally fall into three categories:

Source errors: The content is private, paywalled, in an unsupported format, or on a crawler-blocked site. Try copy-pasting as text instead.

Browser or UI freezes: Try a hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows). Switch to Chrome if you are using another browser — NotebookLM is optimized for Chrome. Clearing your browser cache resolves most persistent display glitches.

Account issues: Sign out of your Google account and sign back in. If you have multiple Google accounts, confirm NotebookLM is using the correct one.

Outages: Check workspace.google.com/status for real-time Google service status before spending more time debugging.
