What is NotebookLM used for?

NotebookLM is a free AI research assistant from Google that works exclusively with sources you provide. You upload documents — PDFs, Google Docs, web pages, YouTube videos, audio files — and NotebookLM lets you query, summarize, and cross-reference all of them at once. Every answer cites the specific source it drew from.

Common uses: - Research synthesis — finding patterns and contradictions across multiple papers - Exam prep — generating study guides, flashcards, and practice questions from your own notes - Meeting prep — extracting key points from reports and decks before a call - Deep reading — asking questions about complex texts without reading word-for-word - Audio learning — converting your sources into a conversational podcast via Audio Overview

It does not browse the internet. Everything it knows comes from what you give it.
