What are good prompts for NotebookLM Audio Overview?

Before generating an Audio Overview, NotebookLM lets you add a customization prompt to direct how the two AI hosts cover your sources. Effective prompts:

• "Focus on practical applications, skip the theory"
• "Target a beginner audience with no prior background"
• "Emphasize historical context and key turning points"
• "Keep it concise — hit only the most important ideas"
• "Focus on the debates and open questions in this field"
• "This is for an executive audience — high-level insights only"

Keep prompts short and directive — one or two sentences is enough. Audio Overview works best with 3 to 10 dense sources. If the result is too generic, prune sources to the most relevant ones and regenerate.
